License

• BootCaT is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version.
• The BootCaT command-line scripts are a suite of (no longer maintained) tools, you may copy or redistribute it under the same terms as Perl.

Credits

The main development of BootCaT was carried out by a group of linguists from the Universities of Bologna (Forlì Campus):

• Marco Baroni and Silvia Bernardini— wrote the original Perl scripts
• Eros Zanchetta— ported the Perl scripts to Java, updated them to use various search engines, wrote the BootCaT front-end and maintains this website
• Adriano Ferraresi, Claudia Lecci and Erika Dalan — contributed to testing and provided input for user-driven development

Past Contributors:

• Nikola Ljubešić (Zagreb) — wrote the, now retired, BootCaTExtractor used before version 1.0
• Cyrus Shaoul (University of Alberta) — contributed the (now retired) script to collect pages from Yahoo
